These are truly beautiful speaker stands. The tripods offer a solid and sturdy support for my ATC SCM11 speakers. The American cherry perfectly matches the cherry veneer on my speakers, and overall quality of craftsmanship and care and attention to detail are superb. Unlike metal stands, there are no compartments to add sand (or dampening material), but the additional isolation plinths go some way with helping to reduce resonance and help manage cabinet vibrations. My own ‘innovation’ has been to turn the isolation plinths upside down, so that the spikes are pointing upwards. Placing the speaker directly on upward facing spikes (using the spike protectors) further isolates the speakers from the the solid wood of the stands, and - acoustically - I am very satisfied with the results. James and Debbie at Audio Chic have offered superb advice and customer service. These are truly capable and effective speaker stands. Thank you Audio Chic!!
